Eh, unfortunately I’ve personally seen straight people doing it. Which tbh, makes more sense. I suspect many just use the terms interchangeably. 🥲🤙 I think for a lot of straight folks: wlw = lesbian …and nothing =‘s bisexuals because many don’t think they exist. Also, even though I’m a lesbian (hooray!) I wouldn’t want us to start pointing fingers at bi women. I wouldn’t want to slander bi ladies with no proof. Esp when I can say I’ve SEEN straights do it with my own eyes. 😮💨
Oh I know! I just got a little worried since the ‘they can’t let us have anything’ made me worry this was about blaming bi women based on speculation, when I know multiple straight people that I can point blank CONFIRM that have done it. 😭 Bi women have been getting a lot of flack around a lot of lgbt spaces, so just wanted to clear it up. Also just infighting in general makes me bummed out. Maybe I’m just a buzzkill. 🤙 Also, happy Lesbian Day!!! 🩷🎉
i agree with a lot of this too, which is why my original comment was worded like it was. i don’t think it’s inherently wrong for bi women to celebrate sapphic attraction during lesbian visibility week and i wanted to make it clear that my distaste was in mislabeling the visibility week. the same applies to clueless straight allies because nothing about the stance changes when the sexuality changes
That makes total sense! Yeah, it is 100% a bummer. TBH, I wonder if among the reasons could be straight people using them interchangeably, but also I’ve noticed the word lesbian seems…more sexualized in a society wide way? Sorry for being a dork and doing discourse in the final hour. And sorry for misunderstanding you! I’m kind of dumb af. 😭🫶
