Gender is a social construct, so you do need to be able to understand, well, something, in order to have a gender imo. But I think people are using “born” to mean “as long as I have been a sentient being,” or at least that’s how I tend to use it

if nobody is born a man or woman, then what exactly are trans people transitioning from? the point of trans liberation was never “biology doesn’t exist.” it was that biology doesn’t get to dictate the entirety of someone’s identity, dignity, or social existence.
