For those who don’t actually know it’s because of lesbian contributions during the AIDS epidemic. Other doctors refused to treat queer people, fearing getting the “gay disease”, and so lesbians stepped up and helped care for those who were ill.

Coming from a trans person, a lot of older trans people make sure their history is passed down. I’m not too deep in the lesbian space but I don’t think they do the same over there (could be wrong)

Thank you ^^ I prob should have made this comment. But before the QIA+ was added (no shade this is not shade) L was added to the front because they stepped for the gays when it mattered and T was in the back because it was the backbone of the community :)
