Tbf af a 6’5 trans girl I would not feel okay if I played on the girls basketball team in highschool, I came out in college so it never was a situation but if I did come out in high school I would not feel okay trying to play as I would just have such an advantage at 6’5

Sports are supposed to be fun and bring people together, I don’t understand excluding certain people, especially when they’re children

There's a difference between an unfair biological advantage and a normal biological advantage lol. Like Michael Phelps didn't need to take hormones to perform more similarly to other swimmers. This is just admitting you think it's unfair to allow trans women in and saying that we should anyway bc it would hurt their feefees otherwise.

Michael phelps has an unfair biological advantage and he’s allowed to continue swimming

We should ban people over 6 feet tall from playing basketball, they have an unfair biological advantage

It’s more about hatred of women than it is fairness or equality

No you have a point, as a 6’5 transfem I would not feel comfortable competing with my advantage

A sports league where there are height speed etc limits so people can compete on pure skill sounds cool Combat sports already do it

I don’t watch sports but if they did that I’d genuinely be a fan

Yeah I think that’s the case of your height is just an advantage tho. If you were a trans woman who was shorter it probably wouldn’t be an issue 🤷‍♂️ I’ve got tall cis women friends who don’t do sports bc they don’t feel comfortable either lol

The key difference here though is that you yourself don’t want to play, so you’re taking yourself out of the equation. The people banning trans women from sports takes that autonomy away It’s like how pro-choice means women should still be allowed to carry to term if they desire. Puts the choice in the hands of women, not legislators

Yeah but what if you did want to play? Those are the people who are experiencing this issue

That is a common argument for how to fairly set up sports leagues integrated by gender

It’s a bit more understandable (a bit) in, say, high school sports, but it’s insane that we’re barring elementary school kids from participating in junior league soccer with their friends just because of what reproductive organs they have 🫩

Why is it more understandable in high school they’re still kids

I just mean that the whole “biological differences” thing begins to appear more in high school when kids undergo puberty. I’m not saying it’s valid, but the argument that there are “biological differences” makes more sense after puberty has entered the picture What I’m getting at is that in elementary school, boys and girls are… pretty much the same physically. Sexual dimorphism truly occurs around puberty

No? There are so many more hormones in the human body than testosterone and estrogen, many of which can also affect performance in sports and the like

He literally has unusually long arms…. That is an unfair advantage in swimming. And trans women have to have a certain amount of estrogen and testosterone in their body to play sports. Taking estrogen actually weakens your muscles unless you’re able to build them back, and it’s the same muscle amount as cis women in the sport typically have
