I'm a trans fem and this is one of the things that shitheads do to trans people that pisses me off the most because it's SO normalized like holy shit. i still remembering using they/them pronouns for my abusive ex and my cis friends said "it's ok you can say it was a man," then when i said they were transmasc the friends said "oh so THAT'S why he transitioned" | was fuming because they GENUINELY thought that was "supportive" and "feminist." just one example, too.
