No. My wife is a trans woman with a beard. I’m a straight man and I paint. I will unapologetically keep painting my wife the way she wants to be depicted as because she’s most comfortable with her facial hair and I love her.

I saw a Halloween “freak show” themed house and one of the “decorations” was a big painted poster that said “Bearded Lady” (and also someone dressed up as one in the background). Idt their intention was to be transphobic but it def put a weird taste in my mouth. It’s literally telling children any straying from heteronormativity makes you a “freak”

Man as much as I try to understand this kind of thing I can’t help but be reminded how arbitrary and insane it is

i totally get what you’re saying but they didn’t make that up if it makes you feel any better. bearded ladies were historically a prominent part of circuses and sideshows starting in the 1800s. although the term “freak show” is quite outdated. even back then people didn’t like it.
