I mean it’s not complicated to respect it, but it’s complicated to fully understand the entire range of identities & nuance that comes with gender

and there’s a deep history with gender as well. I get your point but it’s not easy to fully understand gender, it’s just easy to respect it and get the premise of it

im the op of that post, ur right in that i’ve had some great convos w some cis people, but for most (even cis queer people) i have to significantly dumb myself down to try and explain basic things to them. so the meme is unfortunately VERY true

One problem is that a lot of cis people have never felt the need to explore the concept of gender on their own, so they don’t look into the diverse experiences that other people have
