“no real lesbian would x” “no true trans person is y” “no actual gay man does z” etc. this is fallacious reasoning and oftentimes it either 1) reduces the complexity of the queer community or 2) prevents addressing issues within the community.

it’s so disgusting how people want to enforce rules on other queer people instead of embracing the diversity we have & loving how complex we can be..

Its funny that i know youre talking about my comment, which was made in passing and jokingly and not an actual claim that no real lesbian can be a terf. But again. Lesbian and terf is not synonymous and to argue with me that there is a problem in the lesbian community with terfs(which i am keenly aware of as a transbian) when all my claim did was say can we please stop conflating the two shows that you are willfully misunderstanding my point.

No one is saying terf and lesbian are synonymous I don’t think I’ve ever heard anyone say that in my life

i'm just saying there was a post earlier about that and someone said "no real lesbian is a terf" or something about terfs being unable to claim lesbian, even if it's seemingly a joke, the comment exists and that's what i thought this post would've been referencing rather than being out of the blue
