the interpretation fits on so many levels! like, the “meet Virginia—I can’t wait to” part in conjunction with talking about liking to stay home together, all of that clicks perfectly if you think of that as the speaker dreaming about / getting to know the woman she’s becoming. same with the bittersweet longing tone. this is how I hear it from now on too 💕
