It mainly has to do with sports. Females on average biologically have smaller lung capacity, smaller skeletal size and bone mass, are shorter than males, etc. which puts females who are competing against transgender males at a huge disadvantage. Regarding bathrooms, I and many others think that whole system is messed up to begin with and that we should have more individual bathrooms for privacy
It is statistically significant in performance…🤦🏻♀️regulation of trans people in sports depends on the owners of the league, so it’s a mixed outcome because some will ignore it and think changing one’s secondary sex characteristics is enough while others see that ones primary sex characteristics such as lung capacity, height, bone density and skeletal size absolutely have a huge impact in performance
all of the studies show that increased skeletal size/height etc actually become *disadvantageous* once on feminizing hormones. the changes to musculature, tendons, metabolism etc mean that trans women have to work *harder* that comparable cis women due to their changes in body composition. + there is no competitive difference between trans woman who never went thru testosterone puberty and cis women.
