ya cheating isn't funny! but it's the person in the relationship who is responsible for... not cheating. "homewrecker" has historically been a word used to hold women responsible for men cheating on their wives bc we have a societal issue with holding men accountable for their own actions. i just think its kinda weird to say i should be proud of them deciding not to cheat on their spouse.

Oh gosh, I do think the person who knowingly takes part is also responsible, sadly. I’ve seen people swing the pendulum too far in the other direction. One of my former mutual friends knowingly helped a guy cheat on the partner he was supposedly friends with. We can hold both accountable, y’know? 🤙 But I’m so happy for you that you had the courage to put yourself out there! That’s so hard, and you seem sweet. I hope you find your person. ❤️

(I still mega agree on the historical connotations for the term ‘home-wrecker’, though! It’s one of those words that’s *technically* not gendered, but sure has gotten applied to women disproportionately 🥲)

ooo ya i mean if you KNOW they're cheating on their partner you're accountable and the person getting cheated on would have every right to hate your guts. but most of the cheating incidents in my life were where the person didn't know and blamed themselves afterward
