The data centers use freshwater from impoverished communities which causes communities of color to have no water to cool or run their neighborhoods. As someone who has studied comp sci for 6 years now, #4 is a textbook example of a technology outsider who gets informational updates from mainstream outlets, which inherently report on a delay. This is not conducive for understanding the present nature of technology because it’s an industry that moves at an exponential rate, and we are at the near vertical part. The things we are being forced to use our brains for in order to survive in this extractive economy are in functional misalignment with our evolutionary biology. Being required to over-expend yourself mentally, emotionally, and even spiritually, is not in service of the greatest highest good of humanity. Humans are hunter-gatherers socialized in small groups.
