My doctor put suspected hiv contact on my chart for no reason. I told her I’m monogamous and always use protection for my sexual health and she put a full std test on my bloodwork for no reason without asking.

I go to a doctor whose practice caters to lgbtq patients and no matter what I go in for they want to focus on std testing 🙄

Yeah I went in once for a problem with my ear, she asked what my sexuality was and as soon as I said bisexual she told me I was at high risk for hiv. Ive been in the same monogamous relationship for two years 😭😭

have you ever gotten tested before? because even if you’re being safe getting tested is always a good thing

They put that for insurance billing, but yeah even monogamous people need std testing. Cheaters exist and catching smth early is the best prevention. Unfortunately they ALWAYS do it to lgbtq+ but never to straights despite straight/ having just as much casual sex if not more.

I wouldn’t mind the test if she asked and didn’t put suspected hiv contact for no reason

Sometimes they have to format it like that for insurance purposes
