I once heard my gay male say that “well gay bars are for gay men” (subtext being not for queer people) and then I asked what about lesbians? No response; those people are just being misogynistic tbh

I just saw a gay man ask why the gay bar is full of women. Idk. Maybe because theres only 36 lesbian bars in the entire country and— shocker— the gay bar is meant for all gays.

Okay but a lot of the people that go to gay bars near me are just straight women who bring their homophobic boyfriends in and it makes it such a judgmental and non inclusive space

Thats different— but you cant exclude women and nbs as a whole to counteract that. How do you “tell” someone is gay without being weird and icky? You just cant. I think the reality is public shaming is the only solution. Shame these dumb straight bitches who come in the bars and take up our space.

I don’t think the solution is to exclude anyone I agree that shame id def the way to do it lol. But also please never refer to women as ”dumb straight bitches“ ever again that so insane
