I worked on a steamboat for my first job out of highschool and out of my 12 or so coworkers one of them was a straight man and MAYBE two were straight women. I was one of three trans people.

I say maybe two because I kept thinking “surely this person can’t also be queer” and then they’d mention they were bi. Either bi women love boats or it was just a statistical marvel.

On the boat I worked on our job was to take and sell souvenir photos of the cruise guests, so it was a boat AND we were all photographers. That’s like a gay multiplier right there.

okay i work at the public library downtown and 1)yeah you are definitely right and 2) i have a coworker i SWORE was one of those older snobby academia type gay men(the kind that goes to the met and shits on everything yktv) and after months of knowing him i found out he has a wife and daughter .

I KNOW RIGHT?? I used to work at a downtown public library too (i rotated between three branches) and damn near everyone was queer except for the one dude i was absolutely sure was gay (the type that’s like super super sweet and definitely cries over not being able to adopt every dog in the shelter; turns out he’s been dating his childhood girlfriend for the past seven years)
