This has been feeling pretty relatable to me and my relationships, so I thought I might share in case anyone else has felt similarly

I’m a trans man. Society, and often even my partners, have these deeply ingrained expectations of what a man in a relationship should look like/be, and I’m really struggling with it. I’m not what society wants me to be, but if I don’t act “like a man” in my relationships, I’m suddenly not seen as one.

I don’t believe in these gender roles, but I still end up changing myself to fill that masculine role regardless so I can be seen as a man. It feels like I need to sacrifice myself to pass. It’s draining.
