Puppy play is an important part of my identity because it gives me a safe, social way to step out of everyday pressure and into a simpler, more present headspace. It’s about play, connection, and letting go of constant self-monitoring. Kind of like how performers, dancers, or athletes use a persona/role to access confidence and freedom. I feel more of myself in that space. Kind of like play time and dress up when you were a kid but as an adult

Also it’s an expressive outlet too. A lot of people get really creative with their outfits and such. It’s like the furry community in some ways. A lot of puppies are also punks that make their own stuff. And lots of overlap with the furry community. None of this is to say it isn’t sexual. It absolutely is, but all this is a really big part for a lot of us :3
