Wait so if degendering someone is purposefully selecting improper pronouns, doesn’t that make misgendering literally just an accident? Which means why be upset at misgendering when it’s just that, an accident?

Pretty sure it’s when someone tells you their pronouns and they’re not they/them, but you use they/them pronouns regardless, along with using gender neutral language with them even when they’ve said they prefer something else

squares and rectangles, plus degendering is usually intentional and not an accident due to feeling uncomfortable about using the right name or pronouns because of internal or external transphobia, and the same goes for misgendering though misgendering is more overtly worse and offensive
