Question for all the trans men: When you get bottom surgery, why do they take it out of your arm? Why not the leg because doesn’t that have more extra fat? This is not to be rude, just curious!

So sometimes it is taken out of the thigh but they mainly use the arm for the skin graft bc they skin is thinner and more pliable

I’ve heard that arm has more nerve endings, so you feel more

the issue isn"t skin, it's the nerve.

It will be taken from the thigh if the person is more worried about having visible scarring and if they don’t care as much about sensitivity. If you are doing the arm it’s called an RFF and the thigh is called an ALT. I read an absurd amount of medical journals and case studies.

My main thought was the scarring and I thought that if they needed bottom surgery it wasn’t fair to be forced to have a scar that was too noticeable (for example if I wanted to hide the scar I’d prefer to not wear shorts than lose t-shirts or being able to finally be topless in public).

Yeah that’s totally understandable. It’s case by case. Everyone has different preferences.
