partly because of an interview with me, an actual peer-reviewed study on male bisexuality included a whole section on trans men and BL / gay fanfiction I know this sounds like cap but I’m being totally serious 💀

oops, correction: while I’m pretty certain the researcher’s presentation about her paper included specific mention of transness and BL, it looks like the paper itself mostly interpolated those conversations as an examination of gender exploration within fandom subcultures and roleplaying, so a bit less specifically related than I recalled

but tbf the paper is over 400 pages long so I could‘ve just missed the part I was thinking of. it was called ‘“Whoever I Find Myself To Be”: Past, Present, and Future Selves of Bisexual Emerging Adult Men and Trans Masculine Individuals’
