It’s about individuals not the whole group, both sides should understand each other as a whole person not the label they put on themselves

being a trump supporter is something you choose. like i do think a decent amount of trump voters are misguided and aren’t evil at their core, but comparing queer people literally just existing as they are to a group of people who are actively deciding to support bigoted values is weird

all you choose to be part of the maga group and community for worse or even worse. you don’t choose to be gay. I’m not arguing with that because science backs it. I’m not going to try to understand anyone who purposely identifies as maga.

Same thing can be said to you from maga. One don’t have to make being queer as their whole personality. being gay is not a choice but I also don’t see anyone labeling themselves as a proud straight man

I’m pretty sure you are much more than that. Everyone here is telling me being queer is not a choice, why would you make that as your whole personality.

It’s not a choice but when ppl say it’s “their whole personality” it more means that person lets it known that they are LGBTQ+ I’ve been told it’s my whole personality and it was just me letting it be known I AM BI if that makes sense! I definitely don’t mean it like I’ll wear a pride flag out in public but I’m not gonna hide that I’m bi

Ok, then it’s two different things. I understand why people would dress like the person in picture because they want do advocate something they support. It’s political. I don’t understand why people would advocate something that they are born with.

Ok then you’re just being yourself so that’s not making a label as a whole personality. The post is talking about the people who do that. It’s not about what group you are from, what label you put on yourself, but about one’s personality. The people who make a thing as their whole personality and won’t shut up about it are the same, is what I want to say to the post. I just hope people can look at each other’s whole being instead of a label

when “what you’re born with” leads you to less access to medical care, discrimination, hate crimes and being treated as lesser by others i think it’s fair to have pride in the fact that your community has persevered

being queer isn’t “part of my personality”, it’s an unchangeable part of me as a person. bigoted beliefs that tear down others aren’t something that i think is worth being prideful over. and genuinely are you joking, “straight pride” is a very common retaliation to gay pride movements. not to mention these people who “make gay their whole personality” are probably just talking about their life and people they’re attracted to, which straight people do constantly

If you have so much to say about about what u stand for, why would you assume another group is full of idiots that make something their whole personality? Thats what im trying to say. Stop being so arrogant and start to understand from each others perspective

sorry bud i’ve thought about it and nothing will make me have sympathy for people who vote for legislation that puts trans people in harms way and advocates for revoking their rights. my belief system doesn’t try to dictate who can vote, who can receive medical care or who has the right to exist.

I can look at a Nazi’s perspective and understand that it’s rooted in nonsensical bigotry and a dogmatic approach to politics. I can do the same for MAGA

Bruh it wasnt meant as a defense. But im also exhausted ah so that message may not have come thru. 💀 I’m saying that MAGA is as rooted in nonsensical bigotry and dogmatic politics as Nazism. I never said it was okay, I was implying the opposite.
