i was getting called slurs for "acting too much like a man" before i even knew being trans was a thing but sure it's a "choice" and i can "hide" my queerness
While I agree the sentiment is transphobic, it is a choice. The other choice is that you hate your life and suffer and maybe die but your default setting is not transitioned, you have to do something for that to happen. People are arguing different points

You can't read. I never said being trans was a choice, I said transitioning is an active choice that you have to make. If you wanna argue against things I didn't say, go for it, it's your right :)

You are arguing that people can hide their queerness by not transitioning which is objectively not true

Yes it's not the same as racism, no shit, but many queer people cannot hide it

That's actually not my argument at all, I think I say pretty explicitly and clearly what my argument is and it has nothing to do with hiding anything

that is literally the argument you're defending

transitioning isn't what makes someone identifiably queer. actually, NOT transitioning usually is identifiably queer. you are arguing people can choose across the board whether or not people see them as queer

You're making things up!! My argument is literally that it's a choice to transition! That is the argument! I never said anything about what makes someone identifiably queer and I never claimed people can choose whether they're perceived as queer BECAUSE I DONT BELIVE THAT lmao you don't even have to be trans, there are gay people who everyone's know was gay since they were 3. ALL I ARGUED is that is literally is a choice to transition, you have to actively choose to do that. That's it!

The point of my post was to say you think the argument is you can control whether you're perceived as queer, while I think the argument is you can choose how you present. And it is true, you do choose how you present. If you dress gay obviously people are gonna think you're gay. That's not the same as saying if you don't dress gay no one will think your gay

I think you just fundamentally misunderstand what the people in the screenshot are saying tbh

Not really, the only aspect of anything I commented on is that it's a choice to transition, which is exactly what my post says
