So I’m an AFAB demigirl & I’m ok with she/ her pronouns but any time someone says I’m VERY fem I want to rip my skin off. I did not cut my hair short & put on baggy clothes just to be read as fem. Yes I’m short and wear makeup but I look 12 w/o makeup 😭

Also the makeup I wear: bronzer, concealer lip (so my lips aren’t so pink), contouring, thicker & darker eyebrows… I’ve tried every androgynous makeup tip except for drawing on a mustache but I’m afraid that would read as a little too masc (even though I like dressing like a man). And like I said I’m short PLUS I have a pear/ guitar shaped body (VERY fem body naturally). But I just get so frustrated it’s like ppl just see my petite curvy body and what little makeup I’m wearing

And it’s like they just see someone who is hyperfeminine, it’s like nothing I do matters. I would wear a chest binder but I don’t want to look like a freaking 12 year old. I’m just so frustrated. The dysphoria makes me want to drive my car off a cliff some days

Like I would MUCH rather be misgendered and read as a man than be seen as more feminine than I actually am

What I will never fully understand is that every short man I know isn’t seen as “feminine” or less masc appearing for being short (like they’re still “obviously” read as men), so why am I an AFAB perceived as more feminine for being short?? It isn’t fair 😭

I am so sorry, OP. 🥲 I have a friend who’s also a demigirl that leans more to the center. They work out a lot and they’ve reported that putting on some upper body muscle helped with getting read as more nonbinary - oddly enough. But that’s obviously not an everybody solution. 😭

I started working out some time last year, but stuff keeps coming up and I lose progress 😭Hopefully I’ll soon have the time to really focus on working out.
