My question is why does superman get to be superman but supergirl doesnt get to be superwoman instead shes gotta be supergirl

Originally she was way younger, there’s Superboy too. Superwoman is actually an older character irl, first appearing in 1943 while Supergirl takes until 1949 to appear in any capacity

this reminds me of a conversation with my nb sibling and we were thinking of what any possible grandkids would call them bc grandma or grandpa wouldn’t work. And I said “hey look everyone grand is here”
