you know how frustrating it is when you can’t access HRT due to bullshit legal hurdles, poverty, lack of communication between medical providers etc? imagine dealing with those same setbacks re: meds you need to take every day to manage heart issues
if you’re in the process of medical transition, you know what it means for your daily functioning in society to be dependent on the whims & competence of (often negligent) doctors. this too should mean developing innate empathy towards the chronically ill

or mobility / musculoskeletal issues. or pain. or meds that you need in order to be able to do things like breathe comfortably, or to eat & properly digest food. seriously, please take a moment to consider what that must be like and how it would interfere with your ability to survive

🤝 exact same experience here!!! over the past few years my will to live has been like 95% depleted by my own community members as well as people who once claimed to love me

(the remaining 5% is preserved by interactions like this one / choosing to center relationships with other LGBTQ+ people for whom disability justice is a demonstrable priority ❤️‍🩹)
