i'd say you soft launch to your roommates and friends first, especially those that are closer to you than them. ask what they think about your partner honestly and if they give anything negative at all, build off of it. look at your support and try to figure out a direction yo go financially. you don't have to have it all figured out, but if you break down the steps, you'll be able to get out as best as possible

Always good to have a backup plan (friend who would let you crash for a few days etc) and a go bag

i’m in the same boat, i live with him and he’s known to be EXTREMELY obsessive over his exes, he literally went to the home of his ex AFTER she moved to beg for forgiveness…. while we were together.

Well, it’s not just about what they think, they do have a lot of financial control over me, and are very close to my friends and my roommates

i live with him and four of our friends, two of which are already aware and are willing to help me always, thank you for asking! thankfully he’s moving back home in about a year and my friends and i are still living together :)
