thank you I was gonna comment that. when will people internalize that labels are descriptive tools meant to assist in understanding rather than prescriptive dictates which exclude non-conforming experiences? like holy shit a pansexual lesbian isnt even that hard to understand, it’s just a homoromantic pansexual

what’s wrong with simply using “sapphic” as a label? i don’t think we should police other labels, but it’s harmful to lesbians when you say you’re one of them (who aren’t attracted to men at all) while still having an attraction to men.

I’m like 75% sure that associating “ain’t” with AAVE (even though it’s been part of British English since the 1800s) is the entire reason why so many people get petty and uptight over that word

it’s grammatically correct even in the prescriptivist sense, there’s no strong historical or linguistic argument to effectively contradict the fact that it’s a “real word”, and you just Know the people who take issue with it aren’t even trying to apply that same attitude to themselves via abstaining from using contemporary slang 💀
