it was incredible representation back then but yeah today it’s kinda shitty. i love it for the fun and joy it brings a lot of queer people (i’m in a majority queer shadowcast)

It’s not transphobic btw. It uses the language that trans people used at the time. It was made by a non-binary person. People just want a reason to cancel it and look for the most minuscule things to be pedantic about. It was literally some of the only trans representation in media at the time, and it revolutionized pop culture in many ways, in large part by defining what a cult classic is.
