Why do straight cis men only talk about male survivors in juxtaposition to female or queer or trans survivors of assault? They only talk about them when it comes those conversations
they also get wildly uncomfortable if it’s brought up as its own topic by someone else. The problem only exists when it’s convenient for them

Because they don’t actually care about guys who’ve been through it, just in putting down everyone else.

Hell it’s even really bad among cis queer men. Something I have noticed is that some cis queer men have this thought process where it isn’t assault bc they are queer

they don’t actually care about male survivors either. they just want to downplay and minimize the issue bc they don’t wanna be as the problem.

Because they don’t want to be seen as the villains

Bc they don’t actually care about any survivors

Like my rapist went around telling people that he was expanding my experience of queerness (I’m a lesbian and he raped me) and I had so many cis queer men tell me that I was the problem bc I wasn’t being sexually open

I am definitely more hesitant around all cis men now it doesn’t matter if they are queer or not
