people telling me to just eat or pointing out how my bones show like please i know i’m skinny there’s no need to make a spectacle out of it.

both are bad. fatshaming is more common and socially acceptable. there is systemic bias against fat bodies in a way that thin bodies do not experience. both are bad. you should not be letting either one of them slide because you experience the other.

Any sort of body shaming sucks. I’m a fat guy but I’d never shame anyone skinny. There’s solidarity yknow

Same way a fat person is. Derogatory comments about their body. Not really hard to understand

I honestly just haven’t heard a derogatory comment about a skinny persons body type, being skinny is praised

Like being skinny is so desired in society, so much so that people are using drugs to become uber skinny. Skinny is the beauty standard

praising someone for being skinny isn't always a good thing regardless of the intentions behind it

Thinner people can be bullied growing up. For example, I was. “Skeleton.” “Bag of bones.” I was always picked on because of my weight and it’s just my genetics🥲

Ah, I was skinny and I got bigger and I just always find it strange when people make posts like this bc I was treated significantly better when I was thin. I’m sorry that’s been your experience

I’m all okay now! I’m not around those people anymore, but I still struggle with body image, but it’s getting better as I get older. Body shaming or beauty standards shouldn’t be a thing

Like when I was skinny the worst thing someone would say is you should eat and now that I’m bigger the worst thing I have gotten is that it’s shocking I haven’t offed myself bc if they looked like me they would self harm daily

the behavior towards skinny people is still disgusting, including the non-derogatory comments. but ime people mostly say weird shit to skinny people when they eat, which is a big cause for EDs

In general people should just stop commenting on others’ bodies

Oh I know, I currently have anorexia but I’m not believed bc I’m bigger. I’m praised for not eating. Skinny people aren’t the only ones who have people say things when they eat. My point is the same malice and ill will doesn’t exist. It sucks to have someone make a comment about your body, but skinny people do not face the same hate that bigger ppl do

Like I would love to be skinny and hear those comments again and be treated like a person bc the way I have been treated since gaining the weight has made me feel subhuman

I mean the world is calling Ariana Grande a skeleton saying she looks like a corpse. I personally have not skinny shamed or fat shamed. I have humbled skinny people and I have humbled bigger people and I have seen hot people in all different shapes and sizes as well as not so hot people

“same way a fat person is” they aren’t comparable, even with the caveat that excessively thin people do face derogatory treatment, they aren’t systematically oppressed the way fat people are. if the extent of your “oppression” is unnecessary comments about the body, you haven’t got a clue!

babes nobody said skinny people face more oppression than fat people do. the point is comments about your body regardless of your size is unwarranted.
