the "a little bit bi" thing stems from a fundamental misunderstanding of the sexuality spectrum, in which being "fully" straight and "fully" gay/lesbian are extremes on the spectrum... not sure why people get surprised when others fall on the ends of that spectrum

Your example isn’t wrong, but it’s a square-rectangle thing. Telling a lesbian that everyone is a little bit bi IS saying that they haven’t found the right man yet. But telling a lesbian that they haven’t found the right man yet IS NOT NECESSARILY saying that everyone is a little bit bi. Especially coming from (presumably) straight parents, it’s just a denial of lesbians’ existences.

As a lesbian to me both groups of people are denying that I exist and are saying my sexuality isn’t valid, they are all lesbophobic. You can argue semantics but that doesn’t change both are denying the existence of lesbians

I am not denying that. The difference is, one group doesn’t believe in any form of queerness. They just think you’re “confused.” When someone says they’re bi to the “you’ll find the right woman eventually” crowd, they don’t say “cool” and move on with their day. They say, “you’ll end up with (opposite gender.” That is the difference, and yes, it’s an important one.

and even people who DONT fall on the endpoints of the spectrum might still function as “fully” gay/lesbian or “fully” straight… it’s why you might hear a gay man saying a female celebrity is attractive when he “shouldn’t” find her attractive. finding an unobtainable person attractive doesn’t mean you’re not functionally gay anymore, and using that as ammunition to claim someone “hasnt found the right woman yet” is just homophobic 💀

You can see that someone is objectively attractive without being attracted to them…. A gay man saying a woman is attractive does not mean he isn’t on the extreme end of the spectrum.
