Does heated rivalry get better? I’m only 5 minutes into episode 2, and I don’t really feel too much of an emotional investment into these characters, which I usually do on the 1st episode. Ilya is pissing me off highkey. Maybe it’s just the trauma talking

Like… it’s so popular that I thought it was gonna be this super well written cinematic masterpiece but it kinda just feels like a white womans fanfiction on how she thinks gay men behave. I’ll keep watching but I’m kinda disappointed ig; but everyone else is watching it so I wanna be in the know.

nah this is real. maybe bc i'm on the ace spectrum and SO MUCH of their relationship, especially in the first few eps, is driven by the sex scenes but i couldn't really get into it / feel connected to the main characters until like...... the end of ep 4 / being of ep 5. i think if i read the books, i would like it more / understand the characters better, but i'd never heard of the series prior to heated rivalry getting popular so i haven't gotten around to it yet

honestly i feel like heated rivalry is good for what it is if that makes sense? if you’re looking for more of a plot heavy show this isn’t gonna be it’s literally just romance

but if you don’t like it so far i’m afraid ep 3 is gonna be rough for you (kip and scott annoyed me the first time i watched it)

I know but I read a lot of BL and I think a lot of it is super emotion based, whereas this rn seems… I dunno, JUST sexual based. I’ll try and get to episode 4 :3!

it does start like that, but over time there's less and less sex because their intimacy slowly becomes more emotional in the beginning all they do is hook up which kinda makes sense because they only see each other a few times a year, but once they get to know each other more and can open up their relationship becomes much healthier + theres real communication instead of just sex its perfectly okay to not like a show tho, hopefully it gets better if you get to ep 4!

i enjoyed ep 3 to some degree but i have very mixed feelings about them.... idk it just felt weird and incredibly quick to me.

well from what i heard they basically tried to fit an entire separate novel into that one episode 😭 so yeah it def feels rushed. curious what you’re gonna think abt ep 4 though 👀
