Guys leave trans man lesbians alone and stop acting like its a slippery slope, no cis guy is in good faith identifying as a lesbian. Trans men have been apart of lesbianism for a long time and no one is forcing you to date them if you dont want to

Wait genuinely help me understand how is a trans man a lesbian if they’re a man? Like they could have been a lesbian before realizing they’re trans but once you identify as a trans man you fall outside of the lesbian/ non man dating non man definition

The whole thing is, and I feel like most queer folk should understand this. Labels are WORTHLESS. Like you’re trying to describe a whole complex individual thing with a single word. The whole deal is,whatever somebody wants to call themselves is fine. I don’t care. Labels are descriptive, not prescriptive.

They’re not 😭 ppl r becoming so “woke” they’re looping around to being transphobic by considering trans men to not be “real men” and also misogynistic because they believe that men should be included in literally everything

Trans men are not being told were lesbians. Some trans men identify as lesbians. How someone personally identifies is not transphobic to themselves. I also recommend you look into the history of trans men lesbians because this is not new, and it’s an important part of both lesbian and trans history

There are trans women who do identify as gay, and mean it in that way. Why do you care so much how others identify themselves?

I’m gay. I’m gonna guess the use of the word lesbian means I don’t have a place in this conversation 🤣

Labels are confusing. We wear ones that don’t quite fit due to comfort, past identity or figuring ourselves outs and that’s okay. Or not having the right words. At the end of the day, the person saying they’re X, their comfort matters. Beyond that. Doesn’t matter. Nobody is forced to date anybody or whatever. Weird right wingers have weird talking points similar to this. And everybody recognizes it as BS. Lead with kindness and you’re fine.

This is only specific women who are labeling themselves this way. Same with trans men. I’m a trans man, and I would never call myself a lesbian because that would make me dysphoric, but I don’t give a shit if a trans man chooses to call HIMSELF a lesbian. This is the key thing you all are missing

Nobody’s calling anyone else this. This is how people are choosing to identify themselves only.

Nobody’s calling trans men women. Some trans men identify THEMSELVES with the label lesbian, and that has historically been the case too.

How is it transphobic for a person to use a label they personally identify with? Nobody’s making anyone else identify as anything.

Yeah after googling it and reading some stuff it makes sense if trans men identity with the lesbian community esp if they were in those spaces for a while before figuring out they were men and I guess we shouldn’t try to put people in strict binaries anyways it’s just kind of hard to understand for me cuz I don’t really want men in lesbian spaces cuz I wanna be in community with people who live my struggles and has the same relationship with femininity and loving women as I do

Why can’t people want a label that’s restrictive tho? Not everything is for everyone and I don’t think it’s a bad thing if somebody wants a label for a specific part of their experience and push back against people in their labels space

Okay. So when you’re figuring yourself out, you should immediately wear the right label on penalty of?!? Folks are figuring themselves out. People have comfort in parts of identity or whatevr. Find some things fit or don’t really fit anymore. Shit, this year I’ve went with Genderfluid’s, gnc, demiboy, , or whatever. Like.. it’s confusing. Same with sexuality. And it’s all a mess and hard to figure out. Be kind and let people try things on, wear whatever and meet with kindness.
