ok but lowkey living under an unjust government with unjust laws we’ve all got to get comfortable with doing a little civil disobedience is we want to resist in any meaningful way also gay marriage not being recognized as legal is not the same as gay marriage being criminalized. And even if Obergefell v Hodges is rescinded next year gay marriage will still be recognized by federal law so. doubly not criminal, don’t worry little buddy. but again, doing criminal stuff is not always immoral!

it is actually so dumb, like what’s happening is this: there’s some lady Kim Davis who was in the news years and years ago bc she was a county clerk who was supposed to grant marriage licenses just as her job, who refused to grant marriage licenses to gay couples, which was unambiguously illegal and she had no case to stand on so obviously she went to jail for this, is asking for an appeal on her decade old case

so she’s trying to get her case up to the supreme court so they can like re-rule on Obergefell. But like, she has no case! Because what she did was an action as an employee of the state! So the first amendment does not apply! She cannot even argue it was free speech b/c free speech is for private individuals, not government actions! And she was acting as an agent of the government! Anyway we don’t even know if the supreme court will take the case at all yet.

obviously this is dramaticized but i have fr seen soooo many people talk about how bi women w their boyfriends get dirty looks and snarky comments at pride. like i remember one talking about how they were in a line or something and they heard multiple wlw couples talking about them and its like okay maybe a Singular lesbian made a joke
