I can’t help but get the feeling that heated rivalries was written by and specifically for straight white women. I mean don’t get me wrong, who doesn’t love objectively attractive, wealthy white male leads doing it on screen, but it’s something about it.
I guess it’s partly bitterness because I’m tired of the lack of NON TRAGIC queer black/brown relationships being portrayed on screen, or Hollywoods apparent lack of interest in those stories

The book was originally written by a woman who is married to a bi man (idk her sexuality) and she is Canadian who appears to be a white woman, so maybe it was written by a white woman for white women
