the flags are meant to express our identities. we don’t attack each other for being gray, demi, plutonic, or any other identity. we shouldn’t attack each other for our flags, either. this shouldn’t have to be said.

I love the meaning behind the new flag, it’s just not as aesthetically pleasing. It feels too crowded with the additional stripe and the specific shades of each color chosen are very saturated so it feels like they’re visually competing with each other

from what the person said, it's because the old flag doesn't directly acknowledge diverse/POC experiences while the new one does (see below). they took not liking the look of the new flag (and not wanting to use it for myself) as racism because of that. which is dumb as hell considering how the point of the flag is to supplement rather than replace, i.e. using either is valid and supported by the creator of the new flag. it's taking sides when the creator exolicitly didn't want that.
