i'm demisexual and no one even believes it's a thing. i don't know how to explain it to anyone without them thinking i mean the second date when i say "i need to know them first", i mean months or years before i feel any kind of sexual attraction

It also really super sucks bc I’m the type that likes to intentionally work towards a connection. Like. I met up with someone and we saw each other exclusively for like 7 months before they were like I’m gonna talk to other people bc I just wasn’t ready to date. I can’t help that yk. I just want to be intentionally chosen how i intentionally choose people

I dont tell people that i am bc i feel like microlabels put people off, but same. I dont feel romantic or sexual attraction until I know them first

no same tbh like i fall for people but i dont think i could ever do a love at first sight thing, yk? im also really icked out by things often so one bad thing can completely turn me off if that makes sense

No I get it. Like. Also, you can date someone and not know who they are which is wild. Imagine a committed relationship with someone who goes completely against who you are and not finding out until really late into the game yk

Yeah, that’s what really sucks. But I have mental illness ™️ and I don’t like the possibility of falling super hard for someone who’s been getting to know other people in the same way

yeah people think its stupid or a fake term but i genuinely mean a long period of time, not like 1-5 dates. it can literally take years before i develop attraction in that way, if at all. and no one really wants to wait yk?

Yeahhh i get it :/ I felt like this for a while but trying hookups and realizing it didnt matter what the person looked like, I wasn’t going to enjoy sex with a stranger cemented it in my mind more
