dmv: you need a new social security card before we can give you your new id post name change social security: you need your new id paperwork to get a new social security card *sigh* i am not excited for this charade in the next few weeks 💔

i believe you just need to show the social security office people the proof of your name change? like the court documents? i changed mine in 2023 so it’s been a hot minute but i think that’s your first step. then changing it at the dmv with the same documents and the social security thing should be easy peasy

okay period, i’ve been told i have to change it at the dmv w the certified court records first then the social security office but online it says otherwise it’s all so confusing 😅
