I’m like. 110% certain that the person who made this post has to be a terf psyop. the way they misrepresent the sentiment Drew Afualo was agreeing with is literally designed to be inflammatory

cause how do you get “trans women have a deeper understanding of womanhood than cis women do” out of “when you talk to trans women about their womanhood, they talk about it in such a beautiful, expansive way” unless you’re actively Looking for something to get defensively outraged about

What they said is that when cis women talk about their womanhood, they’re relating it all to “propaganda” and only talk about the negative things like how they’re systematically oppressed and harmed by men, AKA relating their femininity to being assaulted and centering it around harm from men, whereas they think trans women have a more beautiful understanding of womanhood and relate it to softness and discovery. How does that not sound fucked up to you?

Saying that cis women only view their femininity and relate it to their ability to be assaulted by men? And that trans women have a much more beautiful understanding? Come on.

Look at this comment that drew afualo actually liked in her comments.

ER fightmaster literally said that it’s programming and propaganda that makes cis women view womanhood so negatively, when it’s really the fact that we have been beaten down, oppressed, and abused by men our whole lives. That’s why I fucking hate this take. Trans womanhood IS beautiful, but it’s not any more beautiful than cis womanhood. Womanhood is womanhood and it’s all beautiful.

I'm looking at the quote in question right now and nowhere does it say that cis women "only talk about the negative things". you deliberately avoided using a direct quote because the point you're trying to make falls flat if you don't get to misrepresent the wording. same reason you downvoted me without responding when I initially asked you to post a screencap

Alright. “The problem that we have is that men are going to rape and that women are fearing that their whole lives. And when trans women talk about their womanhood, they’re talk about it in this beautiful, expansive way… and I don’t feel that from cis women right now.” That’s a direct quote.

Them saying exactly what I just said. Cis women view their womanhood as negative and live in fear while trans women view it in a beautiful, expansive way. Directly from their mouth.

again, not what was actually said—you keep inserting words like “only” which change the whole meaning of the sentence. unless you’re deliberately approaching in bad faith, it should be obvious what the bottom line was. there’s no reason for you to act so threatened by a positive remark about trans women’s womanhood

notice how there’s nothing about “cis women only talk about [blank]”? notice how “I don’t feel that from cis women right now” is a completely different statement from “cis women never talk about womanhood in beautiful & expansive ways”? notice how nothing was said about “deeper understanding”?

I never said anything about deeper understanding. And you know, certain things can be implied without saying it literally. They don’t feel like cis woman have a positive view of womanhood bc of how they talk about it (literally just talking about their fears of being a woman) and they feel like trans women have a more beautiful understanding of womanhood bc they’re apparently not doing that? Like that’s fucked up. I don’t care.

unless you for some reason think that the word “women” refers exclusively to cis women, it should be apparent to you that “women are fearing that their whole lives” was not referring exclusively to cis women

even after posting a direct quote you’re summarizing it by injecting & altering words such that the whole meaning is altered lol. disengaging now, you are not a serious person

lol ok you can disengage but I still directly quoted them and you’ve also been putting words into my mouth and saying things I never said so bye

There’s this thing called “interpretation”which you seem to not get. It’s when you analyze the meaning behind someone’s words.

yeah, I disengaged from your extremely emotionally-driven long-winded argumentation where you described your own misinterpretation and misrepresentation as “analysis”. I am however acknowledging the reply where you clarified that you weren’t the OP, because that’s a simple enough sentiment that I can take it at face value without needing to explain anything to you … or so I thought, before you prompted me to explain this
