showed up late and demanded a private soundproof room to warm up while we all waited on her for sound check (it was only her band and the crew there, other acts were long done and waiting elsewhere) and bossed around the mix engineers (who worked for the org hosting the event where she was there as a guest, were not her/her label’s employees) on creative decisions that had nothing to do with her set
would not be a huge deal if any of it was in her rider or the contract, but it was not, and “please” and “thank you” or “i’m sorry i got held up” go a looooooooong way in production. was a stark contrast to coldplay who shook each of the engineers’ hands and thanked us individually on the way out.
like people have bad days, and of course we can afford talent a green room or dressing room, but demanding it be soundproof with no one nearby when you didn’t ask ahead of time in a type of venue that doesn’t generally work like that (can’t be too specific, sorry) is unnecessarily divalicious
