No aspect of transitioning came from care for trans people. Everything that goes into our care was first for cis people. You don’t understand trans care— we live this. Puberty blockers are safe, reversible, and not an issue. Hormones are hella monitored.

Not every trans person needs or even wants to be on hormones. Even fewer have surgeries. Transitioning is incredibly gatekept and difficult to do, even as an adult. Even more so as a kid. 10 year olds aren’t getting surgeries at schools despite what you may like to pretend. Keep your ignorant, transphobic shit to yourself.

It is pissing me off the way this poster is talking about hrt as if it is just something you can get hassle free from any doctor at any age. This person is a victim of anti-trans propaganda which totally misrepresents medical transition. I’m sure you noticed all of this too so ig I’m just ranting but ugh

Exactly!!! There’s a reason why gender affirming care has such low regret rates across the board.

It’s exhausting. Transitioning has been an uphill fucking battle for me as an adult. I could have avoided two intense procedures if I were able to transition and have the correct puberty from the start. But nooooo, dumbasses who don’t know the first thing about GAC think they know best.

If the world weren’t so disgustingly colonised and transphobic, GAC would be praised as a miracle because of how low the regret rates are and how much better quality of life is.

I do just want to comment on the sentence about transitioning being incredibly gatekept and difficult as an adult — that may be some people’s experience, but that absolutely wasn’t the case at all for me or any of the other trans people I know. I’ve been on hormones for several years and have gotten multiple surgeries and all of that was extremely easy to get for the most part and I encountered zero resistance from any doctors
