Ok maybe I’m too woke I genuinely wanna hear yalls opinion on this. As a lesbian if heated rivalry was ab 2 girls I’d be uncomfortable with all of the attention from men the way women have shown. Like does it bother gay men in the same way idk ykwim?

Not that I mean specifically that post. But like I saw someone created a Google doc of all the most sexual edits. It was literally labeled “Most sexual heated rivalry edits” like if roles were reversed and a man had made that about lesbians I’d be so uncomfortable and weirded out

It bothers me to unbearable levels. People ignore that the show (attempts to) represent a real, oppressed minority group. It is so dehumanizing to see people fetishize and over sexualize our relationships. Our sexuality is not a fantasy for the female gaze. And knowing that media can affect the way people view minority groups for generations, this sets us back so much. Hate it

Two very conventionally attractive guys star in a show about them falling in love and having very hot sex scenes almost every episode. I think it’s okay for anyone regardless of identity to find them attractive. Queer men’s porn has an interesting history for women too. Both as standard porn (women don’t like seeing women “perform” fake Os) and yoai from Japan (known to be first made by women for women). It’s clear fetishization DOES exist but it’s bc content for didn’t exist for women before.

I had the same opinion but I watched E’s “In Defense Of The Fujos” video and ngl I understood more why women watch these shows, and it’s not really out of fetishization.

hey op here. i totally see where you’re coming from and why it’d make you uncomfortable and tbh i’d feel the same if the roles were reversed. i think it’s bc with men it usually comes from a place of perversion, but with women (and i speak for myself, not all) we don’t mean any harm by it. plus Hudson and Connor seem very secure in themselves and don’t seem to mind the attention they’re receiving. i think it’s a matter of intention. men usually just exploit/objectify. idk am i making sense??

Im not saying fetishization doesn’t exist or can’t be harmful, but there is a distinct difference in intention when it comes to women consuming gay men porn vs men consuming gay women porn. This could be a whole conversation in itself

“literal propaganda” it’s someone’s informed opinion after she researched the history of the genre & asked real people why they consume that media. do you have any empirical evidence to support your claim?
