The whole “I wish I could be with a woman, but I’m stuck with my stupid gross husband/boyfriend” that goes around in bi circles (and some straight women) is just “progressive” queer rehash of boomer “I hate my wife” jokes and that’s not good

If you are unhappy in your relationship, reevaluate it and leave! Because no one deserves to be with a partner who doesn’t just not love them, but doesn’t even LIKE them

Omigosh right? I’m a bi lady and I see this with other bi women and enby folks all the time - it honestly makes me low-key sad for their partners. My running theory is that it’s not so much that they literally mean it, but it’s often *meant* to communicate: ‘Yeah, I’m bi and partnered with a man, but I’m still bi/queer’ - in reaction to the very real, rampant biphobia that’s out there (even in the LGBT community). But then I’m like… you could just say that instead, my dude. 😭

you're such a good partner for the record. if i had a partner like you i'd be so happy. i don't think i could happily live with a "unfortunately i'm attracted to men" person honestly :/
