The bioessentialism here (post and comments) sickens me What happened to feminism?? What happened to equality?? What happened to the movement to make more sports co-ed??? What happened to no inherent differences in ability between women and men and sports divisions would be better determined by other factors like weight class???? Why are we back at women are weaker and less capable and need to be defended?????

Those are special cases. I feel like we as the LGBTQ community have to recognize that biological sex should be the main determinant in sports divisions. Fairness is the sole reason of why we have men’s vs women’s sports in the first place and most female athletes cannot beat men in their sports

Except that isn’t based in fairness. Plenty of cis women are better than cis men, and plenty of cis men struggle against cis women. It’s not as cut-and-dry as people like to think. Get rid of segregating it altogether. Base divisions on height and weight and skill level instead. HRT eliminates any advantages, even putting trans women at a disadvantage, so pretending otherwise doesn’t benefit anyone. It’s just more transphobic disinformation.

you have to understand tho that a ban relying on chromosomes WOULD discriminate against people like that though. trans people in the olympics are already rare!!! trans men beat cis men and cis women beat trans women. if you wanna talk biological advantages then screen for every advantage in the book. exclude cis women for being too tall or too muscular for other women. ts is just dumb.

we literally exist because of the suffering of the poc trans community. STFU!! any kind of appeal to binary sex is pseudoscientific and deeply misogynistic. humans are ALWAYS diverse and sex is determined by many many things. educate yourself.
