at dollar tree they throw the items in a big box after you buy it for the cause but yeah most places just are recovering their losses

also if you want to donate to a cause literally find a charity on your own instead of paying for a tagline like “for the kids!” when it’s just the company pocketing it

Better yet volunteer. Donating is great but sometimes boots on the ground helps more and it can be very rewarding personally

By the way, as a cashier, I never ever judge anyone for not donating! I know it’s hard out here!! I always feel so bad - because our store built our registers so it automatically has that pop up question. I always do my absolute best to hopefully ensure they don’t feel pressured. 😭 I do hope I succeed.
