I stand with you. If you’re talking about a specific experience there is a time and a place to bring up a different one, I dont think many people in that thread realized they were diverting unintentionally which comes off as dismissive

They were not talking about a specific experience. They said something along the lines of “is anyone else tired of bisexuals doing this”. Multiple people, bisexual and asexual, wrote comments saying “this happens to us too, it sucks” and only the bisexual people got mean comments. It might be worth finding the original post and reading the OP’s comments, they are quite rude.

It is a specific experience for monosexual people because the “everyone is a little bi” mirrors conversion therapy speak and aids the “well you just havent found the right man/woman” argument. They might not have been as nice as people would like but I do not expect someone angry/emotional to be nice. It just feels weird that instead of focusing on the actual issue people are diverting and bashing bc they arent the perfect victim. I feel instead of feeling offended we should offer more sympathy.

It is perfectly fine to call out bisexual people for the rhetoric they unknowingly push. We do it with misogynistic gay men and biphobic lesbians all the time.
