I have three degrees. Two of those are a bachelors in history and another is a masters in history. I’m educated not because im queer but because I HAVE DONE THE EDUCATION. The USSR killed millions of people. The USSR is NOT a state to idolize.

idk why but some people are incapable of nuance. the ussr did some truly wonderful things and uplifted millions out of abject poverty. The ussr also did some truly horrific things, that hurt millions can both be true

Why can’t you people realize that a state being communist does not free it from valid criticism? Im genuinely concerned for the state of you peoples mind because youre telling TRAINED HISTORIANs theyre wrong about the USSR?? Yes, they aided in many revolutionary movements but like, that doesn’t negate the millions theyve killed and the fact they themselves participated in imperialism.

Yes!! Its literally about nuance. Like it shouldn’t be one or the other: we have to understand the historical context in its entirety, which means the bad things too.
