the trans healthcare bans that were passed (specifically the one in tennessee) were influenced by trans healthcare bans in the UK, which she promoted. local politicians in the US have referenced JKR. so like, yes we should be addressing the specific laws+policies immediately impacting trans people—and at the same time this is a global community and she has had measurable negative effects on trans healthcare access in the UK and has influenced the anti-trans movement in the US.
