as a trans woman i lowkey get jealous of how it’s a little easier for trans men to pass. i feel like most anti-trans legislation is passed due to the public reactions to trans women simply because it’s harder to reverse masculinization

I feel like with the legislation it comes down to sexism. They view “men” (trans fems) as dangerous predators and “women” (trans mascs) as clueless little girls

reversibility and ease of passing are two different matters, and as someone who’s been on T for 4 years and still gets misgendered on sight by strangers while living in a Very progressive city, i really don’t think it’s accurate to say that trans men have an easier time passing

i don’t think it’s fair to say a whole group is better at passing. i think a lot of trans men struggle with passing like trans women do. i do, however, think there’s more targeted harassment towards trans women and this gross pedophilistic society standards of what people “should be”. personally, i think you shouldn’t really compare the two, just because both groups struggle. it’s not an oppression contest. society sucks and we deserve better

Anti trans legislation is passed because the government needs a scapegoat to distract from the child rapists in office. Estrogen definitely takes longer than Testosterone to do its thing though in a lot of cases.

This exactly. They see women as weak and easily manipulated, so all trans men must be confused girls. And they see men as aggressors, so all trans women must be predators. I also think it has to do with this idea that they can’t imagine anyone WANTING to be a woman, because they see women as “lesser,” and that’s why trans women are treated like their transitioning for purely malicious/creepy reasons. Because in their minds how could you find joy in being a “weak”woman?

as for the legislature, i think that’s classic transmisogyny right? where y’all experience a whole additional layer of oppression even while the anti-trans brigade tries to consciously frame you as “men”—like, in truth they feel they have to punish you bc the reality of your womanhood rejects and transgresses their oversimplified patriarchal narratives. because if they Genuinely only saw you as “men” then they wouldn’t be so quick to enact violent structural misogyny against you

I’m a trans guy and only men’s shirts tend to fit me well. I have very big hips and a much smaller waist, not a single pair of men’s pants has ever fit me. It’s also hard to find women’s pants that fit me, but it’s not impossible. That being said, stiffer men’s shirts, like button-up shirts, also don’t fit me when closed since they’re not made for people with proportionally large hips. As a result, I’m really counting on t and top surgery down the line to help me pass, otherwise my body type is-

-just too conventionally feminine for me to ever be able to pass (I also have a large chest that I can’t bind for as long as most and taping it just makes them look like oddly placed boobs) without medical intervention. All of that to say that I agree that we each have our own unique struggles. Just recently I had to start shaving my crotch daily to make sure my new stp can get a good seal
