This is so valid! I wanted an LGBTQ+ person to do my first gender affirming haircut. It’s not that I doubt the skill of cis people but I wanted someone who understood what that experience meant to me

I already have a cis artist lined up for my second piece. And I’m not saying cis artists aren’t great— because I know so many who are *incredible*!! Not at all why I want a Trans person to do my first piece. This one just has that added sentimentality and meaning for me and I want it to be as reflective of that as possible in every way it can be. 😪
